What is a HOME-CELL GROUP?
A home-cell group is a circle of at least four persons to twelve persons at the most. These persons have a covenant-commitment together to live-out and practice five basic Christian habits:
a.) Pray regularly and fervently together.
b.) Establish open and genuine relationships with non-Christian or unchurched persons in their lives.
c.) Support, care, and nurture each other in love spiritually, emotionally, socially, and at times even economically.
d.) Build and grow each other spiritually to lead in the home-cell group and to start and birth other home-cell groups.
e.) Celebrate and worship together regularly with all the other home-cell groups.
A home-cell group usually meets together at least once a week in a home or in any other place to pray together for each other... to discuss and share with each other the bible lesson for the week... and to minister and care for each other. Every week persons in the home-cell group also keep in touch with each other either by phone, or mail (e-mail), or by meeting and visiting each other. A home-cell group can put together activities or ministries to help the church or to reach out to the community. They are where church life is really experienced at Light and Life Christian Fellowship.
Why must I be part of a HOME-CELL GROUP?
The church can only exist when there is deep, genuine, and true fellowship (Acts 2:42-47). Without real fellowship a Christian can only be "Christian" in name only but not in reality (1 John 1:7). The life of the church is not experienced in the Sunday worship or in any type of church program or even ministry. Church life is everyday life... it is deep and genuine relationship with both fellow Christians and non-Christians. The life of a home-cell group is the life of a true and genuine church... of a true and genuine Christian. If we want to really experience God and live life to the full we must live deep, genuine, and true fellowship. The home-cell group helps us experience our Christianity.
Why is a HOME-CELL GROUP NOT a clique or an exclusive club?
Home-cell group life is basic church life. The purpose of the home-cell group is to build and nurture persons spiritually through deep and genuine fellowship. Home-cell group life is our church's way of making disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). It must be open to non-Christians and unchurched people... it must be open to fellow Christians... it must be open to grow and multiply. A home-cell group is NOT a closed group. Persons in a home-cell group are in fact encouraged to invite people to become part of home-cell group life!
